Description
♂♂
Small butterfly but one of the larger Pyrgus in Balkan. Fw: 16-18 mm.
Ups: markings usually all present and well marked.
Upf: large cell-spot, triangular submarginal spots present.
Uph: pale spots often prominent.
Unh: gc white with yellow-orange discal and postdiscal bands.

Similar species
Life cycle
Adults: single generation from May to July depending on the altitude.
Egg: short stage.
Caterpillar: overwintering as L4 larva in a cocoon.
Pupa: probably short stage.
Habitat
Pyrgus sidae inhabits grassy meadows and rocky areas with abundant flowers from low level up to 1700 m a.s.l.
Spatial requirement moderate, population density can be high.
Foodplants
Caterpillar is feeding on Potentilla recta and Potentilla pedata.
Butterfly is feeding on a diversity of flowers and often found mud-puddling.

Albania: local (more research needed)
Balkan: AL - BG - BIH - GR - HR - NMK - MNE - RKS - RO - SLO - SRB
Europe: IB* - IT - SE France - ALP - BAL - NWE - UK - SCA - EEU
Asia Minor, Transcaucasia, Caucasus and further east.
Conservation status
Pyrgus sidae is not endangered.
Albanian Red List: LRnt.
IUCN Red List, category at the Mediterranean level: LC.
